PTE Reorder Paragraph - Sydney

PTE includes 2 to 3 Reorder paragraph questions and within each question, there are four or five sentences that need to be rearranged. You may get two to three Reorder paragraph questions on the test. The given paragraphs have hints that you must identify and use to find the correct sequence, so a good knowledge of paragraph structure and coherence is needed, as the Reorder paragraph section is not timed. In general, you should use a timed approach for all questions, but you shouldn't spend more than 2 minutes on each, otherwise you risk missing some.
You should identify the subject sentence after you have identified the independent sentence, since it will determine how you sequence the following sentences. After you have identified the independent sentence, you must then use the knowledge of coherent paragraphs, like pronouns, repetition of nouns, and subject-verb-objects. As well as understanding the different types of paragraph structures, knowing the different types of paragraph structures will certainly assist you in choosing the correct sequence when answering Reorder paragraph questions. Structures such as chronology, comparison and contrast, and explanations can help you organize the paragraph in an organized manner.
